First-Term Critical Actions are academic activities which are highly correlated with student success in the first-term (and each successive term). New students accordingly, are required to engage in at least one of the following academic activities in at least one course within 45 days of beginning their first term:
Students who do not complete one of these activities within the first 45 days of their first term will be administratively withdrawn after the 45th day and will receive a prorated tuition refund in accordance with WGU’s Refund Policy.
First-term students administratively withdrawn under this policy are done so with the transcript notation of “Dropped” on all registered courses. Students seeking to continue at WGU will be required to reapply for admission, and are encouraged to contact their enrollment counselor or call 866.225.5948 for more information.
Note: If a performance assessment is returned without an evaluation (as expressed in a comment accompanying the returned task), the submission does not count as a first-term critical action.
