First-Term Critical Actions

First-Term Critical Actions are academic activities which are highly correlated with student success in the first-term (and each successive term). New students accordingly, are required to engage in at least one of the following academic activities in at least one course within 45 days of beginning their first term:

Students who do not complete one of these activities within the first 45 days of their first term will be administratively withdrawn after the 45th day and will receive a pro-rated tuition refund in accordance with WGU’s Refund Policy (please also see Federal Student Aid Disbursements).

First-term students administratively withdrawn under this policy are done so with the transcript notation of “Dropped” on all registered courses. Students seeking to continue at WGU will be required to reapply for admission, and are encouraged to contact their enrollment counselor or call 866.225.5948 for more information.

Questions regarding student policies can be directed to Natalie Murray, Vice President of Student Experience, at natalie.murray@wgu.edu.
