All WGU Students will be transitioning to the integrated process for submission of performance assessments. During the transition, students may be submitting performance assessments in Taskstream or in their course.
To identify if you are part of the integrated submission process access your Course via the Student Portal and navigate to the assessment specific information.
If you see a Taskstream Button similar to the screenshot below, please visit WGU Academic Authenticity Commitment for Taskstream/Turnitin (opens new window) for more information. Additionally , visit What is Turnitin? (opens new window) for additional information on submitting a performance assessment through your course.
For questions regarding the access to performance assessments, please contact the Assessment Services (opens new window) team.
Maintaining academic authenticity is crucial to Western Governors University's (WGU) mission to provide competency-based degrees credible to both academic institutions and employers. It is the responsibility of everyone in the WGU community, students and faculty alike, to adhere to Academic Authenticity policies. As a part of WGU’s ongoing commitment to academic authenticity and student success, this is important as students complete their performance assessments. With each submission for an assessment, students are required to acknowledge understanding of and agreement to the Academic Authenticity (opens new window) policies. The process is a quick but essential improvement to protect the integrity of our institution and students' degrees.
What does this mean for students and how does it work?
Step 1: When students have uploaded material and are ready to submit work, the Submit button is clicked.
Step 2: Once the Submit button is clicked, a Confirm Authenticity window opens. Students are reminded of the policies and guidelines for submitting original work. In addition, the bottom section contains Academic Authenticity statements and a check box to acknowledge understanding and agreement to these policies.
Text for Academic Authenticity Student Agreement as shown in the above screen shot:
"The value of your WGU degree depends on the quality and integrity of our assessment. Please read the following statements and confirm your agreement:
I confirm that all of these statements are true."
Step 3: Once the box is selected, students will be able to select the Confirm and Submit in order to confirm the agreement.
Step 5: A new confirmation window of submission is provided.
