AP: Performance/Behavior Concerns & Interventions

If you find that the advanced program candidate consistently uses ineffective teaching methods, does not demonstrate effective leadership qualities, or consistently does not follow the school policy, you may determine that more in-classroom observations are needed or that an intervention is necessary. The Teacher & Principal Success team must approve the addition of supplemental observations and intervention plans before you discuss them with the candidate. You may use additional observations in conjunction with an Intervention Plan.

The Teacher & Principal Success team (teachersuccess@wgu.edu) can assist you in coming up with a plan to best meet the student’s needs.

If the advanced program candidate does not demonstrate improvement after an intervention plan has been put into place, they may be removed from the practicum. In rare situations, administrative withdrawals are possible. Contact teachersuccess@wgu.edu for more information.
