Clinical Supervisor (CS) Required Orientation

Western Governors University Clinical Supervisor Required Orientation

As a WGU clinical supervisor, you must attend either a live teleconference or a recorded webinar of a one-hour orientation that WGU offers prior to the start of each cohort. Your confirmation of attendance is required before you begin to supervise the assigned teacher candidate. You will document your participation in the orientation by completing a survey via a link provided to you at the end of the session.

The clinical supervisor orientation provides the opportunity for you to:

  • Learn how to access to the Clinical Supervisor Support Site (opens new window) for all resources related to supervision,
  • Ask questions,
  • Review WGU expectations,
  • Learn about the latest updates to policies and procedures,
  • Meet representatives from the Teacher Success team, and
  • Meet with other clinical supervisors from around the country.

Watch for a "save the date”  email, sent from Teacher Success (teachersuccess@wgu.edu) 1-2 months before the start of the cohort for more information.

State-Specific Training Requirements

In addition to WGU’s orientation, states listed in the following table have specific training requirements for clinical supervisors.
