You will receive directions on how to access the WGU Host Teacher Training & Support Site in the "Welcome Host Teacher" email sent to you from Teacher Success (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please read through the information on the website right away as it provides all the information you need to mentor a WGU teacher candidate.
Hosting a WGU teacher candidate provides you an opportunity to receive professional development hours. WGU allows up to 8 hours/week (maximum 96 hours) of professional development for hosting a teacher candidate. Note: WGU’s maximum allowable hours may be different than what your state allows. The following table lists state-specificguidelines and limitations regarding professional development. If your state is not in the table, please refer to your state’s Department of Education as state requirements change frequently.
