TPA Completion Deadline & Revision Policy

There is a completion deadline for all teacher performance assessments (TPAs). You are required to complete your TPA by the following dates:

Fall Cohort: April 1

Spring Cohort: July 1

If you do not complete your TPA by the required completion deadline, the Teacher Performance Assessment Remediation team will work with you to decide, on a case-by-case basis, whether you must redo your TPA (which may require returning to the classroom) or if you should be counseled to a non-licensure program.

If are completing the edTPA and you have revised your work 4 times or more in the review process, the Teacher Performance Assessment Remediation team will work with you to develop an individualized remediation plan. The remediation plan will identify whether you must revise specific tasks or if you need to redo your edTPA (which may require returning to the classroom). If a remediation plan is developed, a specific deadline will be identified in which you must complete your edTPA.

If you are completing the edTPA or MoPTA and you receive a fail from the 3rd party scoring vendor (Pearson or ETS), the Teacher Performance Assessment Remediation team will work with you to develop an individualized remediation plan. The remediation plan will identify whether you must revise specific tasks or if you need to redo your edTPA or MoPTA (which may require returning to the classroom). If a remediation plan is developed, a specific deadline will be identified in which you must complete your edTPA.

If you are required to return to the class to redo sections of your TPA, the Field Placement office may be able to assist in finding a placement for you. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to secure a new classroom placement in order to complete your TPA. You will then work with your placement coordinator to confirm this placement.
