How Do I Get Access to the Performance Assessments in My Course?

Students in most Business graduate, IT graduate, and IT undergraduate programs will be transitioning to the integrated process for submission of performance assessments. During the transition, students may be submitting performance assessments in Taskstream or in their course.

To identify if you are part of the integrated submission process access your Course via the Student Portal and navigate to the assessment specific information. If you do not see a Taskstream Button but something similar to the screenshot below, please click here for additional information on submitting a performance assessment through your course.

At Western Governors University (WGU), we know that time is a very important commodity for students as they juggle work, family, and other responsibilities to achieve their dream of earning a degree. Toward that end, WGU has enabled automated access to most performance assessments once students accept the assessments at term enrollment.

Students gain access to the submission platform for performance assessments by clicking the Taskstream button inside the "Assessment" tab (or "Assessment" section) in the course of study. After clicking the Taskstream button, the assessment status shows as “In Progress” to indicate that the student is now able to start working on their assessment.

However, if students continue to see a “Begin Now” button for an assessment in a course of study, it means that particular assessment is not eligible for automatic enrollment. Access to these assessments requires manually selecting “Begin Now” then clicking the subsequent “Submit” button. Please expect access to the assessment within 24-48 hours after completing the manual request.

Note: By using the Taskstream button inside the “Assessment” tab (or “Assessment” section) in the course of study, students are accessing Taskstream through single sign-on (SSO) authentication.
