How do I schedule my EC-Council exam?



To schedule the assessment:


  1. Create an EC-Council account at
    • First time users: Click 'Register New User.' Fill in your details and click 'Register'. It is recommended that you register using your WGU email address. 
      • Note: Any changes to your details after the exam incur a $75 admin fee not covered by WGU.
    • Returning users: Sign in with your username and password.
    • For technical issues contact An EC-Council account is required to take your exam. You may be asked to reschedule your exam if you do not have an EC-Council account.
  2. Visit to check that your computer meets the system requirements for ProctorU. We recommend running this test again before your exam to ensure that your system and equipment are in working order.
  3. Create a ProctorU account at
    • Select 'New user? Sign up here'
    • Select 'Test Taker'
    • Under Enrollments, select EC-Council as the institution (not Western Governors University)
    • Fill in your personal details
    • Check the box after reading to agree to ProctorU's terms of service
    • Click 'Create Account'
    • Update testing preferences if you wish.
  4. Click 'Sessions' in the top right portion of the screen.
  5. Click 'Schedule New Exam' in the upper right portion of the screen
  6. Choose the details for your exam. In the 'Institution' field, choose EC-Council. In the 'Term' field, choose 'Active tests'. Choose your exam based on the WGU assessment.
    • AQV2, FMV2, and JIV2: Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) v8
    • FVV2: Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) v9
    • ARV2, FNV2, and JHV2: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • IKV1: EC-Council Certified Encryption Specialist (ECES)
    • ILV1: EC-Council Certified Incident Handler (ECIH)
  7. Select the date and time you wish to take the exam. Click 'Book It' in the bottom right portion of the screen.
  8. You will receive confirmation of the reservation. A countdown timer will appear indicating the time left until your exam.
