How do I submit my personal Panopto video in Taskstream?

Students enrolled in select assessments have the opportunity to record with, or upload into, the Panopto video platform to fulfill a video task requirement. Students can be assured that their videos are secure and automatically set to private within WGU's Panopto hosted web site.

Every video (either recorded with the Panopto Recorder or uploaded into Panopto) is assigned a unique viewer link. To include your video in a task submission, you submit your video’s link; also referred to as a URL.

1.  Open your WGU student email inbox. One way to access your student email is by signing in to the student portal and clicking the mail icon at the top right corner.WGU_Student_Email_Access_via_Student_Portal.png

2.  Locate and open the email with subject line: [Panopto] Ready to view

 

3.  Copy the viewing link located in the automated email. Note: You can also click this link to view your video and ensure it is the video you intend to submit. Other links in the automated email can be disregarded.

4.  Access the assessment from your course of study and open the task directions.

 

5.  Locate the “Panopto Video URL” form located at the bottom of the task directions or click on the “Links” button on the Taskstream submission toolbar.

 

6.  Paste your link where indicated and click “Save and Return”.

 

7.  Upload any other required documentation using the “Attachments” button from the submission toolbar within your task.

 

8. Continue with the process for submitting work in Taskstream, including, but not limited to; running a Turnitin report and using the "Submit Work" button.

 

Note: If you did not receive an automated “Ready to view” email in your WGU inbox, you can use the Panopto web site to locate your video and obtain its viewing link. Follow the steps below:

 

  1. Sign in using “WGU” to WGU’s Panopto-hosted site. You will land on the "Home" page.
  2. Locate the search box and type your WGU username in the box, as shown below. Click the magnifying glass icon to search by your username.

3.  The search will populate a list of videos created under your username. Locate your desired video, hover your mouse over its blue colored title (indicates video is ready for viewing).

 

4.  Click the Settings option.

5. The pop-up page will include a Viewer link field. Right click into the viewer link field, then select Copy.

7.  Locate the “Panopto Video URL” form located at the bottom of the task directions or click on the “Links” button on the Taskstream submission toolbar.

8.  Paste your link where indicated and click “Save and Return”.

9.  Upload any other required documentation using the “Attachments” button from the submission toolbar within your task.

10. Continue with the process for submitting work in Taskstream, including, but not limited to; running a Turnitin report and using the "Submit Work" button.
