After Graduation Steps to Schedule the NCLEX-RN and Obtain Licensure in Florida

Complete the above steps prior to graduation. Once you have graduated, follow the steps below to schedule your exam and receive your RN license.

  1. Submit Certificate of Completion: Submitted by WGU to the FL Board of Nursing (BON)
Once you have graduated, your Program Mentor will send notification to the WGU State Director of Nursing (SDON), who will then submit a Certificate of Completion to the FL BON.
  2. Receive Authorization to Test (ATT): E-mailed to you from the FL BON
The FL BON will review your application materials once it has received the Certificate of Completion. The FL BON will then email you an ATT that will allow you to schedule your exam.
  3. Schedule the NCLEX-RN: Using your ATT, schedule the exam
It is best to take the exam as soon as possible because your success rate is greater and you will not be required to take an additional preparatory course.
  4. Receive Exam Results: You can find your exam results in your account on the MQA online portal (opens new window)
If you did not pass, you will receive instructions to register for the exam again.
  5. Receive RN License: Once you have passed the NCLEX-RN exam, the FL BON will issue your RN license. You can view and manage your license on the MQA online portal (opens new window).

Contact your Program Mentor with any questions about this process.
