After Graduation Steps to Schedule the NCLEX-RN and Obtain Licensure in Indiana

Complete the above steps prior to graduation. Once you have graduated, follow the steps below to schedule your exam and receive your RN license.

  1. Submit Certificate of Completion: Submitted by WGU to the IN Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA). Once you have graduated, your Program Mentor will send notification to the WGU Program Director who will then submit a Certificate of Completion to IPLA.
  2. Receive Authorization to Test (ATT): E-mailed to you from Pearson VUE. The IPLA will review your application materials once it has received the Certificate of Completion. IPLA will then notify Pearson VUE, who will email you an ATT that will allow you to schedule your exam.
  3. Schedule the NCLEX-RN: Using your ATT, schedule the exam. Your success rate is greater the sooner you take the exam after graduation. IPLA will email your results.
  4. Receive Exam Results: If you did not pass, you will receive instructions to register for the exam again.
  5. Receive RN License: Once you have passed the NCLEX-RN exam, IPLA will issue your RN license. Congratulations!

Contact your Program Mentor with any questions about this process.
