Mentoring and Student Support - Nursing Programs

Upon enrollment with the University students are immediately assigned to a program mentor (nursing faculty) whose role it is to see the student through to program completion and graduation. Nursing faculty are masters or doctorally prepared registered nurses with a clinical specialty and education certification or teaching experience. Nursing faculty (course instructors) responsible for a specific nursing subject matter directly related to the practice have demonstrated competency in the areas to which they are assigned. All faculty who are responsible for teaching in a nursing specialty area for the prelicensure BSN program hold a valid RN license for each state where students are enrolled.

See the WGU Student Handbook (opens new window) for other support services.
