Requesting ADA Accommodations for Third-Party Exams

Exams included in WGU courses and programs but that are created by third parties, such as IT certification exams, are also administered by companies that have independent rules and processes regarding disability accommodations. In most cases WGU Student Accessibility Services are not allowed to coordinate accommodation(s) for these exams and WGU students will need to make arrangements independently.

Praxis:

The PRAXIS exam is distributed by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and other exams providers. To receive accommodations for your PRAXIS exam, you must contact ETS directly and work with their disability office.

ETS is committed to providing reasonable testing accommodations for candidates with documented disabilities or health-related needs, as recognized under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Amendments Act. They treat every request for accommodations on a case-by-case basis and have established policies and procedures that give people with disabilities or health-related needs access to their tests. Some accommodations they offer include extended testing time, extra breaks, a reader, a recorder/writer of answers and a separate testing room.

The links below provide additional information regarding the disabilities process with ETS:

Students should review all the materials before submitting a request for accommodation(s). For additional information and forms, they can visit http://www.ets.org/disabilities.
