 Alabama BA Special Education Mild to Moderate Certification and Exam Requirements
 

Exams completed for Utah certification will be reported to the Alabama State Department of Education as part of the reciprocity licensure application process.  The ALSDE may require additional exams for Alabama licensure at their discretion.

In Alabama, this program leads to a Professional Educator Certificate with endorsements in Collaborative Special Education, Grades K-6  and Grades 6-12.

 

1) Special Education Content ExamPraxis 5543 Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

You must pass this exam to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification. This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement.


2) Pedagogy Exam for Alabama Certification: Praxis 5204, Teaching Reading

This exam is not required for graduation. You must pass this exam to be eligible for an Alabama Professional Educator Certificate.
