Arkansas ESL Endorsement and Exam Requirements
Note: WGU students who want to become certified in Arkansas need to first license in Utah after completing their teacher preparation program. A graduate can then apply for a reciprocal license in Arkansas after receiving their Utah license. Refer to the following for specific state requirements: general Utah teacher certification requirements and general Arkansas teacher certification requirements. You must first obtain an initial Utah license and add English as a Second Language to your initial Utah license prior to applying for your ESL endorsement in Arkansas.
LICENSE AND EXAM REQUIREMENTS
In Arkansas, this program leads to an endorsement in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) (K-12).
You must pass this exam to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification.
This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement.
Practicum: All WGU students in an ELL program must complete a 30 hour practicum. If you wish to receive a K-12 endorsement, you need to do your practicum at the K-12 level.
