American Samoa Certification (Licenses Not Available Through WGU)
Note: While we do our best to give you accurate and up to date information about your state requirements, we are not infallible. State requirements change frequently. It is your responsibility, and in your best interest, to double check certification and licensure requirements with your state’s Department of Education.
The American Samoa Department of Education requires prospective educators to complete an American Samoa approved program. Prospective Educators may not complete a program that is out-of-state, like at WGU. In addition, educators may not transfer a license from another state (reciprocity). Interested prospective educators may contact the AS certification specialist, Ms. Ruth Matagi-Tofiga, at 684-699-9117 for more information.
