Middle Grades Mathematics Certification Available: Preliminary Single Subject Foundational Mathematics
Secondary Mathematics Certification Available: Preliminary Single Subject Mathematics

Graduates of a WGU Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (Middle Grades) teacher preparation program will be eligible for a preliminary Single Subject Foundational Mathematics teaching credential in California, which will allow them to teach in any general math, consumer math, algebra, geometry, or probability and statistics classroom in a departmentalized setting.

Graduates of a WGU Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (Secondary) teacher preparation program will be eligible for a preliminary Single Subject Mathematics teaching credential in California, which will allow them to teach in any mathematics classroom in a departmentalized setting.

MAME (Middle)

CA Content Exam:  CSET Single Subject Mathematics subtests I (211), II (212) 
(or, if passed prior to 12/28/2014) CSET Single Subject Mathematics subtests I (110), II (111) )

 

WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5169, Middle School Mathematics


Note: If you have previously passed one or more subtests of the CSET: Mathematics examination prior to December 29, 2014, your scores remain valid for 10 years and you will not have to retake those subtests if you apply for your authorization before they expire. Please note that CSET scores must be used toward a California credential within 10 years of the test date.


MAME (Secondary)

CA Content Exam:  CSET Single Subject Mathematics subtests I (211), II (212), III (213)

(or, if passed prior to 2/28/2014, CSET Single Subject Mathematics subtests I (110), II (111), III (112))
