Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements


Endorsement Available for Graduates of WGU's MS Special Education Program: Special Education, K-12

Graduates of WGU's MS Special Education program will be eligible for an added Special Education K-12 endorsement to their current CNMI teaching license. Upon certification, you will be qualified to provide collaborative/consultative instructional services for students with disabilities at all levels K-12 and to be the primary instructor of special education students in core content areas that you are Highly Qualified to teach.

Special Education Exam Requirements: 

1) Content Exam:  Praxis 5354 Special Education: Core Knowledge and Applications (previously, Praxis 0351, Special Education: Knowledge-based Core Principles)

This exam is required for graduation and recommendation for licensure.

2) WGU Program RequirementPraxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications (for students who matriculated on 9/1/2011 or after)

This exam is required for graduation.
