How to Add an Additional Endorsement

All Endorsement Programs

Licensed Colorado educators can add additional endorsements to their existing Colorado teaching license either through completion of a state-approved program in that endorsement area or by completing a combination of coursework, Praxis or PLACE testing, and experience. The latter pathway is only available in certain endorsement areas, the requirements of which are specified at this link. If your added endorsement area requires completion of an approved program, please follow the steps listed in this Student Handbook article to apply for your added endorsement.

Note: The requirements to add an endorsement in Colorado is the same, whether you are adding an endorsement at a new grade level (Elementary to Secondary) or the same grade level (Secondary to Secondary).
