Washington D.C. has the following requirements for a Standard Teacher Credential based on completion of an out of state teacher preparation program:

 

1. BACHELOR'S DEGREE

2. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a teacher education program that leads to a state certification in the applicable subject area
 

3. LICENSING EXAMS: Passing scores on the required basic skills, content and pedagogy exams.

4.  BACKGROUND CLEARANCE: Complete the required background check.
