Delaware MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements

Note: Delaware-certified educators can apply for certification in additional areas via the DEEDS online application system. Prior to starting an additional course of study, it is recommended that you apply through DEEDS for an evaluation of what coursework and/or testing you will need to complete in order to be eligible for certification in an additional area.  

In Delaware, this program leads to an endorsement in Exceptional Children K-12.


1. Content Exam: Praxis 5354 Special Education: Content Knowledge and Applications 

Or, if passed prior to 9/1/2010, Praxis II 0352, Special Education: Application of Core Principles Across Categories of Disability

You must pass this exam to be recommended for certification. 

2. WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

If you matriculated 9/1/2011 or later, you must pass this exam to graduate from this program.
