Georgia MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements
In Georgia, this program leads to an endorsement in Special Education General Curriculum P-12.
1) Georgia Content Exam: GACE Special Education General Curriculum Test I (081) AND Test II (082).
While these exams is not required for graduation, you must pass this exam to be recommended for licensure.
2) WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications. If you matriculated after 9/1/2011, you must pass this exam to graduate and be recommended for your endorsement.
Practicum: Those who matriculate in the MS Special Education program after March 1, 2010 will complete 240 in-class clock hours of supervised practicum in elementary and secondary special education classrooms as part of their capstone project.
