GA Secondary Mathematics Certification and Exam Requirements

In Georgia, this program leads to Mathematics Grades 6-12 certification. 

Important Note Regarding Field Experiences and Licensure


Secondary Mathematics Exams and Requirements:

1) Content Exam: GACE Mathematics Test I (022) and II (023). You must pass this exam to graduate from your program and be recommended for licensure. 

2) WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5161, Mathematics: Content Knowledge

You must pass this exam, or a WGU Program Requirement exam previously accepted for the Secondary Mathematics program, in order to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification. 


3) Licensure Exam Requirement: Georgia Educator Ethics—Program Exit (360). You will find instructions on how to register for the Georgia Educator Ethics – Program Exit (360) here. This assessment is not required for graduation from your program, however, it is required before you will be recommended for certification.
