Hawaii MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements

In Hawaii, this program leads to an endorsement in Special Education-Mild/Moderate K-12.

1) Content Exam: Praxis 5543, Special Education, Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

You must pass this exam to graduate from the program and be recommended for certification. This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement


Practicum: Those who matriculate in the MS Special Education program after March 1, 2010 will complete 240 in-class clock hours of supervised practicum in elementary and secondary special education classrooms as part of their capstone project.
