How to Add an Additional Endorsement

MA Mathematics Education (MAME)

and

MA Science Education (MASE)

The requirements to add a new content area in Indiana are the same whether you want to add a content area at a new grade level (such as an Elementary teacher wanting to add a Secondary license area) or add a content area at the same grade level as your initial license.

1. Endorsements may be added by exam only if they are listed on the Areas for Addition by Testing form.

2. Apply for an additional area using the LVIS Portal on the Indiana DOE website. Using the LVIS system, you will apply for your credential online. You will be able to upload exam scores and pay the application fee through the LVIS portal.

MS Special Education (MSSP)

and

English Language Learning (ENDELL, MAELL)

To add Special Education or English as a Second Language, you must graduate from your WGU program and pass the appropriate Praxis or IN CORE Assessment exam.  After you have officially graduated and completed all required exams, please follow these steps:

1. Apply for an additional area using the LVIS Portal on the Indiana DOE website. Using the LVIS system, you will apply for your credential online. WGU Indiana graduates must select "Utah" as the state in which they completed their program and manually write in "Western Governors University - Indiana" in the corresponding field.  You will upload your WGU transcript (two official WGU transcripts are automatically mailed to you upon graduation) and pay your application fee through the LVIS Portal.

2. Once you have submitted your online application, email licensure@wgu.edu and request that a certification officer review it. Once licensure has reviewed your application and verified that all required documentation has been submitted, your application will be sent to and processed by the Indiana Department of Education.
