Basic Skills Exam: Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751)

OR, if passed prior to 7/1/2019, Indiana Core Academic Skills Assessment (CASA)

NOTE: If you passed any subtest of the CASA prior to 7/1/2019, you may retake the remaining subtests to satisfy the basic skills requirement.

OR, if passed prior to 9/1/2013, Praxis I: Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST) with a composite score of 527


Other Basic Skills Alternatives:

The following additional assessments are acceptable to document basic skills competency for WGU Indiana Students:

 

  • ACT with a score of at least 24 based on Math, Reading, Grammar, and Science
  • SAT with a score of at least 1100 based on Critical Reading and Math if taken prior to March 1, 2016 

  • SAT total score of at least 1170 based on Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math if taken on or after March 1, 2016

  • GRE with a score of at least 1100 based on Verbal and Quantitative prior to 8/1/11
  • GRE with a score of at least 301 based on Verbal and Quantitative on or after  8/1/11.

Although the Indiana Department of Education does not require a basic skills exam for licensure, WGU requires a basic skills exam for graduation. One of the exams listed above must be completed in order to satisfy WGU's basic skills exam requirement.
