To be eligible for recommendation by the Certification Office, students must graduate and have their degree posted to their WGU transcript.

WGU Indiana students will apply as an in-state applicant for licensure, listing Indiana as their recommending institution state and WGU as their recommending institution of higher education. Follow the process below to prepare your application for an initial teaching license in Indiana.
Step 2: Apply for your license online and pay the application fee through the LVIS Portal.
Step 3: Read the information on the requirement for CPR-Heimlich Maneuver Certification. You will need to complete such training provided by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and provide verification of certification to the IN DOE. As of July 1, 2012, all applicants for both initial licensure and renewal must show proof of valid CPR/AED/Heimlich certification.
Step 4: All individuals applying for an initial teaching license will be required to show evidence of successfully completing education and training on the prevention of child suicide and the recognition of signs that a student may be considering suicide. Step 5: Upload verification of CPR-Heimlich Maneuver Certification and Suicide Prevention training to your LVIS application
Step 6: Once you have submitted your online application, email email@example.com and request that a certification officer review it. Once licensure has reviewed your application and verified that all required documentation has been submitted, your license will be issued and you will be notified.
