Through what pathway do WGU students license in Kentucky?

  • Students in the following programs license via the direct and approved pathway:
    • Bachelor of Arts, Elementary Education (BAELED)
    • Post-Baccalaureate, Elementary Education (PBELED)
    • Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education (MATELED)
    • Bachelor of Science, Mathematics Education Middle Grades (BSMEMG)
    • Master of Arts in Teaching, Mathematics Education Middle Grades (MATMEMG)
    • Bachelor of Science, Mathematics Education Secondary (BSMES)
    • Master of Arts in Teaching, Mathematics Education Secondary (MATMES)
    • Bachelor of Science, Science Education Middle Grades (BSSEMG)
    • Bachelor Science, Science Education Secondary Biological Science  (BSSESB)
    • Bachelor Science, Science Education Secondary Chemistry (BSSESC)
    • Bachelor Science, Science Education Secondary Earth Science  (BSSESE)
    • Bachelor Science, Science Education Secondary Physics (BSSESP)
    • Master of Arts in Teaching, Science Education Secondary (MATSES) includes Biological Science, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics
    • Master of Arts in Teaching, English Education Secondary (MATEES)
  • Students in all other programs, including advanced programs, will license via reciprocity with Utah.

 

What basic skills exam should I pass?

All students in Kentucky must pass the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751) or an approved alternate basic skills exam to satisfy the basic skills requirement.
