Basic Skills ExamPraxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5752)

Or, if passed prior to 7/31/2020: Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751)

Or, if passed prior to 8/31/2014, Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)

The Louisiana Department of Education has established the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Test (Core) in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics as the state-required basic skills exam.

You can find Louisiana's minimum passing scores for Praxis Core or PPST here.

To ensure WGU receives your Praxis Core scores, add WGU (Recipient Code #4944) as an official score recipient when you register for Praxis Core. You may wish to consider consulting the Registering for Praxis Exams article.

Alternate Basic Skills Options:
Louisiana's basic skills requirement can also be satisfied with either ACT or SAT:
  • ACT composite score of at least 22
  • SAT combined verbal/critical reading and math score of at least 1100 (if taken March 2016 or after)
  • SAT combined verbal/critical reading and math score of at least 1030 (if taken prior to March 2016)
