Educational Leader - Level 1


 Louisiana has the following eligibility requirements for Out-of-State Certificate applicants who completed a teacher preparation program approved in a state other than Louisiana:

1. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a teacher preparation program.

2. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS: Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.


3. STUDENT TEACHING: Completion of student teaching in a certification area.

4. PROGRAM RECENCY: At least six semester hours of teacher preparation coursework has been completed within the past five years.


5. CERTIFICATE ELIGIBILITY: Verification of eligibility for teacher certification in the state where you completed your teacher preparation program. WGU's Licensure Office will provide this verification to you as part of your application.
