Louisiana Secondary Science Certification and Exam Requirements

In Louisiana, WGU's initial teacher preparation programs in science lead to a teaching certificate with an endorsement in one of the following areas:

Biology, Grades 6-12
Chemistry, Grades 6-12
Earth Science, Grades 6-12
Physics, Grades 6-12

 

Content and Program Required Exams:

To graduate from your program and be recommended for Louisiana teacher certification, you must pass the content and program required exam for your certification area listed below. The pedagogy exam is not required for graduation. Rather, you must pass the pedagogy exam to be eligible for a Louisiana Professional Certificate.

WGU Program Required ExamPraxis 5571 Earth & Space Science: Content Knowledge

Louisiana does not currently require a content exam for Earth Science. However, you must pass Praxis 5571 to satisfy the WGU Program Requirement.
