Michigan ESL Endorsement and Exam Requirements

In Michigan, this program leads to an endorsement in English as a Second Language, K-5 or 6-12

You will be eligible for an ESL endorsement at the same level of your current Michigan teaching certificate (either grades K-5 or 6-12).


WGU Program Required Exam: a) Praxis 5362, English to Speakers of Other Languages or b)  Praxis 5361, English to Speakers of Other Languages

You must pass this exam to graduate from this program.


Michigan Content Exam: MTTC English as a Second Language (086)

You must pass this exam to be recommended for an ESL endorsement.


Practicum: All WGU students in an ELL program must complete a 30 hour practicum. If you wish to receive either a grades K-5 or 6-12 endorsement, you need to complete your practicum at either the K-5 or 6-12 level.
