Michigan MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements

In Michigan, this program leads to an endorsement in Learning Disabilities K-12.

The Special Education: Learning Disabilities endorsement will qualify you to provide collaborative/consultative instructional services for students with learning disabilities at all levels K-12 and to be the primary instructor of special education students in core content areas for which you are Highly Qualified to teach.

1) Michigan Content Exam: MTTC Learning Disabilities (114) (or MTTC Learning Disabilities 063 if passed prior to 11/30/19)

You must pass this exam to be recommended for certification. 

All MTTC exams must be less than 5 years old at the time of licensure in Michigan. 

2) WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications (for students who matriculated on 9/1/2011 or after)

You must pass this exam to graduate from this program.
