How to Add an Additional Endorsement

All Endorsement Programs

Licensed Minnesota educators can apply for additional teaching endorsements by completing a teacher preparation endorsement program and passing the applicable subject matter examination.  Middle school math and social science endorsements can only be added to a current elementary or secondary license. The Certification Officer cannot recommend you for a special education endorsement until you have graduated and WGU has copies of all required state pedagogy and content exam scores.

Note: The requirements to add an endorsement in Minnesota are the same, whether you are adding an endorsement at a new grade level (Elementary to Secondary) or the same grade level (Secondary to Secondary).

To submit an application for an endorsement to be added to a Minnesota Teaching License, please follow the instructions outlined in the MN Teacher Certification Application Information and Instructions student handbook article.
