Minnesota MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements
In Minnesota, this program leads to an endorsement in Special Education: Academic and Behavioral Strategist Birth-12.
1) Special Education Content Exam: MTLE Special Education Core Skills (Birth to Age 21) 200 and 201 (2 subtests)
You must pass this exam to be recommended for licensure.
OR, if passed prior to 8/26/18 and after 12/2013, MTLE Special Education Core Skills (Birth to Age 21) 186 and 187 (2 subtests)
OR, if passed prior to 12/2013: MTLE Special Education Core Skills (Birth to Age 21) 180 and 181 (2 subtests)
2) WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications
If you matriculated after 9/1/2011, you must pass this exam to graduate from the program and be recommended for licensure.
