ND Basic Skills Requirement

North Dakota Basic Skills Requirement

Basic Skills Exam:

Beginning 9/1/2019, Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5752)

or, if passed by 8/31/2019, Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751),

or, Praxis I, Pre Professional Skills Test (PPST) (Note: Praxis I PPST will no longer be offered by ETS/Praxis after August 31, 2014.)

The North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board has established the Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators Test (Core) in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics as a qualifying basic skills exam for licensure.

Although a basic skills exam is not required to obtain a North Dakota teaching license (since WGU students apply for their North Dakota license via a reciprocal Utah teaching license and Utah does not require a basic skills exam), in order to satisfy WGU's basic skills exam requirement for graduation, you are required to meet North Dakota's basic skills exam requirements. Please click here for passing score information.

Go to http://www.ets.org/praxis for information on test dates, fees, and registration.

To ensure that WGU receives your scores and can verify your eligibility for DT, you must fax a copy of your official score report to the Assessments Office at 801-906-5108 or email a scanned copy to scores@wgu.edu
