Nebraska ESL Endorsement and Exam Requirements

In Nebraska, this program leads to a license with an endorsement in English as a Second Language, either Grades K-6, 7-12 or K-12.

WGU Program Required ExamPraxis 5362, English to Speakers of Other Languages

You must pass this exam, or a WGU Program Requirement exam previously accepted for the English as Second Language program, in order to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification.

Practicum: Nebraska students seeking an endorsement in English as a Second Language K-12 must complete a 45 clock hour practicum working with ELL students. You will receive an endorsement in the grade level in which you completed your practicum.  Therefore, if you wish to receive a K-12 endorsement, you need to do your practicum at both the elementary and secondary levels.
