Exam Requirement Note
Content Exams

NMTA Elementary Education Subtests I and II (102, 103)

      and

NMTA Special Education (601)

Pedagogy Exams

NMTA Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Elementary (051)

      and

NMTA Essential Components of Elementary Reading Instruction (104)

Both of these exams must be passed before requesting a recommendation for teacher licensure.
WGU Program Requirement

Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

Students who matriculated on or after 9/1/2011 must pass this exam before applying for graduation.

 

DEMONSTRATION TEACHING REQUIREMENT

16 weeks divided between elementary and special education, as determined by WGU.
