NMTA English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) (507)

Students must pass this exam before they may receive a recommendation for certification.

WGU Program Requirement

Praxis 5362, English to Speakers of Other Languages 


Praxis 5361, English to Speakers of Other Languages

Students must pass this exam before applying for graduation.


Practicum: All WGU students in an ELL program must complete a 30 hour practicum. If you wish to receive a K-12 endorsement, you need to do your practicum at the K-12 level. 

Foreign Language Requirement: New Mexico applicants for an endorsement in TESOL must complete six semester hours in a language other than English.  These courses are not available through WGU.  For more information, review the NM TESOL Endorsement Requirements.
