Nevada Early Childhood Education Certification and Exam Requirements-Reciprocity Pathway


In Nevada, this program leads to an Initial License in Early Childhood, Birth - Grade 2


Obtaining an initial Utah license is required to apply for an initial license in Nevada via the Reciprocity Pathway. Note: Students who enrolled before 10/1/2015 AND were living in Nevada at this time can license directly in Nevada. Contact licensure@wgu.edu if you need clarification on eligibility and exam requirements.

Content Exams:
1. Praxis 5024, Education of Young Children (Or, if passed prior to 9/1/2014: Praxis 5021, Education of Young Children)
2. Praxis 5025 Early Childhood Education (Or, if passed prior to 9/1/2015: Praxis 5022 Early Childhood: Content Knowledge)
3. Praxis 5001, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects (this is the Utah required exam)

WGU ECE Program Requirement (for students who matriculated on March 1, 2012 or later. See the WGU Program Requirement for the Early Childhood Education program)

You have four options to satisfy the WGU Program Requirement. You may pass any of these four exams:

1.     Praxis 5001, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
2.     Praxis 5018, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge
3.     Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge
4.     Praxis 5031, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
