In Nevada, WGU's Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (Middle Grades) program leads to an endorsement in Middle School/ Junior High Grades 7-9

Note: This certificate will not allow one to teach in a 9th grade high school classroom. 

 

In Nevada, WGU's Master of Arts in Mathematics Education (Secondary) program leads to an endorsement in Secondary Mathematics Grades 7-12

 

Note: Applicants must have passed the required exams within five years prior to the date they apply for licensure.

MAME (Middle Grades)

Content Exam: Praxis 5169, Middle School Mathematics

This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement

You must pass this test to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification.

 

Pedagogy ExamPraxis 5623 Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 5-9 *

This exam will only be required if you are adding a new grade level to your license.

 

* Praxis 5624 (computer), Principles of Learning and Teaching 7-12 will be accepted if passed on or before August 31, 2019.

Nevada will not accept the Praxis 5624 if taken after August 31, 2019.

 

MAME (Secondary)

Content Exam: Praxis 5161, Mathematics: Content Knowledge

This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement

You must pass this test to graduate from this program and be recommended for certification.

 

Pedagogy Exam: Praxis 5624 (computer), Principles of Learning and Teaching 7-12
