New York Elementary Education Certification and Exam Requirements

LICENSE AND EXAM REQUIREMENTS

Elementary Education Certification Available: Childhood Education Grades 1-6

Graduates of a WGU elementary education teacher preparation program will be eligible for Childhood Education Grades 1-6 teacher certification in New York, which will allow them to teach in any multiple subject classroom in that grade range.

  Previous Content Exam Requirement:  NYSTCE Multi-Subject (002) Accepted if passed prior to 09/22/14.
Elementary Pedagogy Exam

Educating All Students Test (EAS)

Required to be passed before requesting a Letter of Recommendation for Licensure from the WGU Licensure Office.
