OH Elementary Education Certification and Exam Requirements - Direct & Approved Pathway

In Ohio, this program leads to a Resident Educator license in Early Childhood Pk-3 with an Early Childhood Generalist (4-5) endorsement.

 
1) Content Exams: OAE Early Childhood Education (012) AND OAE Elementary Education Subtests I and II (018 and 019)

You must pass both of these exams to graduate from the program and be recommended for certification.

Or, if passed prior to 9/3/13, Praxis 5014.

 

2) Pedagogy Exams:

OAE Assessment of Professional Knowledge: Early Childhood PK-3 (001) 

Or, if passed prior to 9/3/13, Praxis 5621

AND 

OAE Foundations of Reading (090)*

You must pass both OAE 001 and 090 to be recommended for licensure.
