Oregon BA Special Education/ Elementary Education Certification and Exam Requirements

In Oregon, this program leads to a Reciprocal or Preliminary license with endorsements in Elementary Multiple Subjects and Special Education: Generalist.
 

1) Elementary Education Content Exam: Praxis 5001 Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects

You must pass this exam to graduate from the program and be recommended for UT certification. This also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement.

  • OR, if at least one sub-test is passed on or before 8/31/2014 with all four sub-tests passed on or before 7/1/2015: Praxis 5031, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
  • OR, if passed prior to September 1, 2012, Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge exam

 

2) Special Education Content Exam: Praxis 5543 Core Knowledge and Mild/Moderate Applications

You must pass this exam to graduate from the program and be recommended for UT certification. This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement.

 

3) Oregon Pre-certification Exam Requirement: ORELA Protecting Student and Civil Rights in the Educational Environment Examination

You must pass this exam before applying for Oregon licensure.
