Oregon Early Childhood Education Certification and Exam Requirements


In Oregon, this program leads to a Reciprocal or Preliminary license with an endorsement in Specialization: Early Childhood Education.

1) Content Exam for initial UT certification: 

Praxis 5025, Early Childhood: Content Knowledge OR 

Praxis 5001, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects

You must pass one of these exams to graduate from the program and be recommended for UT licensure. 

OR, if passed before 9/1/2015, Praxis 5022 Early Childhood: Content Knowledge can be accepted.
OR, if at least one sub-test is passed on or before 8/31/2014 with all four sub-tests passed on or before 7/1/2015: Praxis 5031, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
OR, if passed prior to September 1, 2012, Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge exam

2) Oregon Pre-certification Exam Requirement: ORELA Protecting Student and Civil Rights in the Educational Environment Examination

You must pass this exam for your Oregon license.

3) WGU Program Requirement:  If you matriculated after March 1, 2012, you must pass one of the following four exams to graduate from the program:
1.     Praxis 5001, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
2.     Praxis 5018, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge
3.     Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge
4.     Praxis 5031, Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects
