Oregon MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements


In Oregon, this program leads to an endorsement in Special Education: Generalist.

 

1) Content Exam: ORELA/NES Special Education exam

You must pass this exam before you can be recommended for the endorsement in Oregon.

 

2) WGU Program Requirement: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications

If you matriculated after 9/1/2011, you must pass this exam to graduate and be recommended for your endorsement. 

 

3) Practicum Requirement: Those who matriculated in the MS Special Education program after March 1, 2010 will complete 240 in-class clock hours of supervised practicum in elementary and secondary special education classrooms as part of their capstone project.
