South Carolina MS Special Education Certification and Exam Requirements

In South Carolina, this program leads to an endorsement in Special Education: Multi-Categorical Pk-12 (Mild/Moderate).

1) Content Exams: Praxis 5543, Special Education: Core Knowledge and Mild to Moderate Applications 
You must pass this exam to graduate from this program and be recommended for licensure in South Carolina. This exam also satisfies the WGU Program Requirement.

 


Practicum: To be eligible for Multi-Categorical Special Education certification in South Carolina, the classroom(s) in your practicum must contain populations in at least two of the following three areas: (1) Learning Disabilities, (2) Mental Disabilities, and (3) Emotional Disabilities.
