Early Childhood Education Certification Available: Early Childhood Education Pk-Grade 3
Content Exams:


Note: Applicants must have passed the required exams within five years prior to the date they apply for licensure.

1. Praxis 5024, Education of Young Children
    (OR, if passed by 8/31/2014: Praxis 5021, Education of Young Children)

2. Praxis 5018, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge
    (OR, if passed prior to 9/1/2014: Praxis 5014, Elementary Education: Content Knowledge)

    Both the Praxis 5018 and 5014 exams satisfy the WGU Program Requirement.

Pedagogy Exams:

1. Praxis 5203, Teaching Reading: Elementary
     (OR, if passed prior to 9/1/2013, Praxis 5201 Reading Across the Curriculum: Elementary)


2. Praxis 5621, Principles of Learning and Teaching: Early Childhood


Note: Effective 10/1/2016, If you completed edTPA during the demonstration teaching portion of your WGU teacher preparation program, then you do not need to pass Praxis 5621, Principles of Learning and Teaching: Early Childhood. If you did not complete edTPA, then you will need to pass Praxis 5621 to be eligible for licensure recommendation in Tennessee.
