Note: Applicants must have passed the required exams within five years prior to the date they apply for licensure.

 

M.A. Mathematics Education (Secondary)
Content Exam Requirement:

Praxis 5161, Mathematics: Content Knowledge
Note: TN will accept the Praxis 5061 in place of the Praxis 5161 if the 5061 was passed by 8/31/13 and you apply for licensure by 8/31/18.

 

WGU Program Requirement:

You have two options to satisfy the WGU Program Requirement.  You may pass either:

1. Praxis 5161, Mathematics: Content Knowledge
2. Praxis 5061, Mathematics: Content Knowledge

 

M.A. Mathematics Education (Middle Grades)
Content Exam Requirement:

You must pass both:

1. Praxis 5169, Middle School Mathematics

2. Praxis 5203, Teaching Reading: Elementary Education
Note: The Praxis 5201 exam will be accepted if it was passed by 8/31/13 and you apply for licensure by 8/31/18.
