Information about the TSI Assessment (Not Required for WGU Teacher Candidates): The Texas Education Agency has established a basic skills exam called the "TSI Assessment" for teacher candidates who attend approved education preparation programs in the state of Texas.Students normally complete this exam as part of the admissions process for approved Texas programs. WGU Post-Baccalaureate and MAT teacher candidates are exempt from the TSI requirement because Texas Rules don't require those who already hold a bachelor's degree to meet the basic skills requirement.
